Before you install
Add your community in Postloop and choose Invision Community as its software. Use its exact HTTPS address, including any installation folder. Submit the listing for staff review. You need access to install custom applications in your community AdminCP; check your hosting plan if that option is unavailable.
Install and connect
Download the TAR application file below. In your community AdminCP, open System > Applications and install the Postloop file. Open Postloop and choose Connect to Postloop. Sign in to Postloop, select the matching listing and confirm the connection. Return to the app to choose your posting controls.
Choose your posting controls
Select the public forum sections where paid topics and replies are welcome. Set the topic and reply targets, total daily limit, per-writer limit and posting guidelines. Save the controls, run a connection check and enable paid reservations when you are ready to receive funded work.
Keep the background task running
In AdminCP, open System > Settings > Advanced Configuration and inspect how tasks run. On a self-hosted community, use the cron or web scheduler instructions shown there and schedule execution every minute. Tasks that depend on visitors can stop during quiet periods. From app version 1.0.1, every page view also triggers a sync when the last contact is older than a minute, so visitors keep the connection current on any hosting, including Invision Community in the Cloud. In Postloop > Overview, check Background delivery for the scheduler mode, task state and last scheduled run. A managed hosting plan may provide its own scheduler.
For writers: link your account
Join the opportunity in Postloop, open its connection page and choose Confirm community account. Sign in to the correct community account and confirm the link. Postloop uses the permanent member ID, so a username change does not break the link. Reserve the required content type in Postloop before writing.
How tracking works
Link your community account in Postloop and reserve a topic or reply before writing. Publish normally in an eligible public section. The app records the contribution locally and sends its permanent link, section, content type, posting time and content-change status to Postloop. A new topic counts once: its opening post does not also earn a reply payment. Private messages and unrelated activity are not sent.
When your work appears
The app schedules a sync every minute. Local tracking history usually records eligible work immediately; Postloop receives it on the next successful sync. Allow roughly 1-2 minutes, especially for a new reservation. Refresh the tracking page to see new records. These timings depend on a working background scheduler and network connection.
Enable paid reservations
This option lets eligible writers reserve funded work when your listing is approved, spending credits are available, targets have space and tracking is healthy. Turning it on does not approve your listing, buy credits, approve contributions or pay for ordinary unreserved posts. Turning it off pauses new paid reservations; existing reservations, tracked work and staff review continue.
Targets and daily limits
Set separate topic and reply targets in the app. The total daily limit applies across all writers and both content types; the per-writer limit applies to each writer. Reserved slots count toward the limit, so several writers cannot claim beyond the available capacity. Day boundaries follow the timezone set on your Postloop listing. Existing work keeps its accepted rate and brief.
Estimated earnings and staff approval
A successfully tracked, eligible contribution enters staff review with estimated earnings. Staff approval makes those earnings available. Site owners and writers can follow contribution links, dates and decisions in Postloop. Connection health or a Delivered entry means the activity synced; it is not a quality approval or payment confirmation.
Edits, moderation and deleted posts
Edits, hidden posts, moves to excluded sections and deletions are reported for staff review. Existing evidence and earnings history remain available. These changes do not automatically deduct approved earnings; any correction is a separate staff decision.
Delayed or interrupted tracking
A connection becomes delayed after fifteen minutes without a successful sync, and new paid reservations pause. Check the app background task, server scheduler and any displayed error. A manual connection check restores contact temporarily; it does not replace the recurring scheduler. Queued work retries after recovery. Do not submit the same integrated post manually or create duplicate work while waiting.
Update or disconnect
Back up your community before installing updates. Update the existing Postloop application or add-on rather than uninstalling it, so its connection and tracking history remain available. To stop using the integration, use Disconnect in the app or your Postloop connection page. Existing Postloop records remain available for review.
